Autism Wessex provides a much loved and valued service for the community, playing a crucial role in the education, care and support of autistic children and adults along with their families.
Autism affects the way in which people think and how they process information, which can lead to difficulty in communicating effectively, securing and maintaining relationships and how they perceive and manage sensory stimuli.
At Autism Wessex we offer three main services:
- Portfield School; a specialist school providing education to children and young people with autism aged 3-19
- Community Support and Residential Homes; providing services to people of all ages in their own homes up to 24 hours a day, along with a number of residential homes for adults, with each home accommodating four people along with staff to support their needs
- Community Connector; offering free signposting information and advice on a range of autism related topics to help people with autism, families and professionals to access services, and plan for the future
We need your help so we can continue to offer our services, and work towards a world where people with autism can enjoy maximum independence and a good quality of life.
Thank you for the invaluable support you are giving to Autism Wessex and good luck!
