About us
Access Dorset has created a vibrant and welcoming community hub (called The Bridge) where people with often complex support needs can find a menu of resources to enhance their personal growth and develop self-help strategies and support mechanisms. We support any disabled or older people, which includes people with Autism/aspergers, mental health support needs, mobility impairments, sensory impairments and leaning disabilities.
Natalie (age 25), Horizon Café Team Member:
“This is so exciting – I’m getting a real taste of work, building my skills and confidence and working in a team. We’re creating ways to reduce isolation for older people and really bringing together the different generations. It’s about us all supporting one another.”
We support people to build their own resilience and capacity to support one another through our information, advice and guidance services; crisis advocacy service; vocational development opportunities and activities that reduce social isolation. These include our Horizons Community Café and our Walk and Talk, Build, Grow, and Cook activity sessions, all of which we deliver from The Bridge.
We need your help! Please consider supporting a highly effective local charity.
Thank you for your support and good luck!
Yours sincerely,
Mr Jonathan Waddington-Jones
