The Dorset Children’s Foundation (The DCF) was set up in 2013 to support local sick and disabled children by funding medical expenses, mobility equipment and therapies not covered by the NHS. We also provide life enriching experiences, such as holidays, for families to create memories that last longer than a lifetime.
We provide what is needed for a better quality of life and since we began we have given over £500,000 to local causes.
The DCF have 3 successful charity shops and our sales cover all our modest overheads so 100% of any donation will go directly to help a local sick or disabled child. We promise that donations will never be used to cover the day to day operational costs of the charity.
Not only do we raise vital funds we also offer a friendly support network, both within the charity and by connecting parents in similar situations who best understand the challenges each other face. Its like being part of the extended Dorset Children’s Foundation family.
We don’t just donate to individuals but offer funding and long term support to other local charitable bodies, such as children’s centres and sporting associations associated with disability.
